Preparations for G20 Summit in Bali

Preparations for G20 Summit in BaliSandiaga Uno, the minister of tourism and creative industries, and Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, stepped up preparations for the G20 Summit, which will take place in Bali in November of this year.

There are a number of major concerns with the G20, including preparations for the three invited nations as well as the G20 member countries, and the program that has been assigned to them. These nations must receive the best service; thus, they must intensify their preparations.

In order to simplify access for guests of the G20 Presidency in November 2022, the ministers evaluated the progress made in the construction of the VVIP terminal at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport for this occasion.

The first step for this preparation is the VVIP (arrangements), the process of foreign visitors arriving, and their delegation to the hotel and activities. Uno claims that it has progressed to the 80–90% mark and all of this has been planned and communicated previously. In October 2022, all infrastructure development work is anticipated to be finished. Tourism and creative economy participants are prepared to welcome the international event.

Apart from these preparations, Communication and Information Technology Minister, Johnny G. Plate stated that the president of Indonesia G20 offers a digital-based global transformation to facilitate the discussion.  This was made possible by the fact that numerous participants from 20 different countries—from the public or commercial sectors—could freely and formally address important issues.

One fascinating topic to explore in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic recovery was innovation in digital technology, which might be made accessible to developing countries in addition to developed ones. He predicted that in this case, the digitalization of the whole market will result in major growth within a few years. The ministry also mentioned a potential digital-based business expansion coming up soon with the availability of digital innovation.
