From Bali to Jakarta, Salty Fish Serves Up Big Flavours and Bigger Energy

Share:

Tucked inside Jakarta’s buzzing SCBD district, Salty Fish brings a lively new energy to the city’s nightlife scene. Created by the team behind The Golden Tooth Bar, the venue blends punchy cocktails, loud music, and an industrial-style setting that feels effortlessly cool without trying too hard.

Hidden within the space is The End, a sleek speakeasy inspired by Bauhaus design, where classic cocktails are reworked with playful, modern twists. Drinks like the Burnt Barley, Cilantro Kola, and Batanga showcase the bar’s bold approach to flavour, balancing creativity with familiar comfort.

Recently, Salty Fish turned up the heat with a one-night collaboration featuring Chef Benjamin Cross from Bali’s cult favourite MASONRY. Known for its woodfire cooking and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, MASONRY brought a taste of Bali’s laid-back dining culture straight into Jakarta’s nightlife capital.

The menu highlighted some of the restaurant’s signature crowd-pleasers, including Claudough bread with hummus and crispy chilli butter, house-made wagyu pastrami, tuna crudo with mini hash browns, and the indulgent McMasonry wagyu burger.

Dessert came in the form of a rich brioche pudding served with calvados cream and vanilla ice cream.

With its energetic atmosphere, inventive cocktails, and collaborations that bridge Bali’s dining scene with Jakarta’s after-dark culture, Salty Fish feels less like a typical bar and more like the kind of place you end up staying at far longer than planned.
