Attempting to pay only IDR 50,000, the two tourists sensed something awry and expressed their discomfort. Their attempt to exit the taxi was thwarted as the driver promptly locked both passenger doors.

In a tense situation, one of the female tourists exclaimed, “Let us get out of the car right now, I’m gonna call the USA embassy.” Both individuals appeared visibly frightened and tried unsuccessfully to seek assistance in leaving the vehicle.

Moments later, the taxi driver menaced the two tourists with a knife, initiating a tense negotiation where the tourists offered all the money they had on hand. Dissatisfied with the amount, the driver angrily demanded more.

Subsequently, the driver halted the vehicle at the roadside and attempted to approach the passengers, prompting the tourists to swiftly flee and seek help.

The video swiftly circulated on various local social media platforms in Bali and Indonesia, drawing a wave of negative comments from angered netizens towards the taxi driver’s behaviour. Following the video’s viral spread, Bali police promptly initiated a search for the perpetrator, recognizing the disturbing nature of the incident and the potential for further victims if the culprit remained at large.
