Daniel Caesar Set for Jakarta Comeback at Java Jazz Festival 2026

Canadian R&B singer Daniel Caesar is set to return to Jakarta after an eight-year absence, with a performance at the Java Jazz Festival 2026.

The announcement follows his global tour reveal for his latest project, Son of Spergy, shared via social media. Jakarta is included as one of the tour stops supporting the album.

The organisers confirmed his appearance through their official Instagram account, stating that Caesar will perform on Sunday, 31 May, at NICE, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2, Tangerang.

“Enjoy Daniel Caesar’s live performance as he brings raw emotion and captivating musicality to the stage; his soulful voice and deeply personal stories make this performance a must-see,” the festival wrote.

Caesar last performed in Jakarta during the 2018 edition of Java Jazz. He has also appeared twice at We The Fest, in 2019 and 2023.

At this year’s festival, he is expected to perform songs from Son of Spergy, an album that explores his complex relationship with his father. The record debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 chart and includes tracks such as “Who Knows”.

New Chapter for Java Jazz Festival

The 2026 edition marks the 21st year of the festival, organised by Java Festival Production. This year introduces a new concept under the name myBCA International Java Jazz Festival.

The event will take place from 29 to 31 May 2026 at NICE, PIK 2, Tangerang. The new venue is expected to offer more space and improved access for audiences.

According to the organisers, the change reflects an effort to stay relevant and expand globally while maintaining a strong presence in Indonesia’s music scene.

Tickets went on sale on 2 April through the official website. A daily pass is priced at Rp600,000, while a three-day pass costs Rp1,440,000, excluding tax.

In addition to Caesar, several international artists will perform at special shows. Jon Batiste is scheduled for 29 May, followed by wave to earth and Ella Mai on 30 May.

The broader line-up includes names such as Dave Koz & Summer Horns, Lisa Simone, Incognito, Slank, RAN, Maliq & D’Essentials, and Yura Yunita.
