Apple Launches MacBook Neo with Four Colour Options: When Will It Be Released in Indonesia?

Technology company Apple has launched the MacBook Neo, its latest laptop, with a starting price of US$599 (approximately IDR 10.1 million based on an exchange rate of IDR 16,800). The announcement was made on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

Apple also offers a 12-month instalment plan, allowing buyers to pay US$49.91 per month (around IDR 842,000).

“Built from the ground up to be more affordable for even more people, MacBook Neo is a laptop only Apple could create. It features a durable aluminum design in four beautiful colors; a brilliant Liquid Retina display; Apple silicon-powered performance; all-day battery life; a high-quality camera, mics, and speakers; a Magic Keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad; and the intuitive and powerful features of macOS. There is simply no other laptop like it,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering.

The MacBook Neo is available in four colour options: Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo. Apple states that the aluminium casing is designed to improve durability and contains 60 per cent recycled material.

The company said the laptop was designed to provide a Mac experience at a lower price point.

Display, Chip and Performance Features

The MacBook Neo features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with brightness of up to 500 nits. Apple says the screen is designed to deliver clear visuals for watching videos, browsing the web, and using on-device artificial intelligence features.

The laptop runs on the macOS Tahoe operating system. It includes built-in applications such as Safari, Photos, Messages, Pages, and FaceTime. Apple has equipped the MacBook Neo with the A18 Pro chip.

The processor is paired with a 5-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. According to the company, the hardware supports multitasking performance and enables machine-learning features directly on the device.

The MacBook Neo uses a fanless cooling system, which allows the laptop to operate without the noise generated by traditional cooling fans. Apple states that the battery can last up to 16 hours due to the power efficiency of Apple Silicon.

For connectivity, the device includes two USB-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 6.

Indonesia Release Date Yet to Be Announced

Apple is offering two MacBook Neo configurations.

The first variant features 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage and is priced at US$599 (around IDR 10.1 million). The second model includes 8GB of memory and 512GB of storage and is priced at US$699 (approximately IDR 11.8 million).

The company stated on its website that pre-orders for the MacBook Neo have opened. The laptop is scheduled to be available starting 11 March 2026.

Information about the launch timeline was also shared through a post by Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook on X.

Apple has not announced an exact release date for Indonesia. However, the device is expected to be available in the country at some point in 2026.
