Three Indonesian airports have secured positions within the top 10 busiest airports in Southeast Asia for July 2026, according to monthly scheduled flight seat capacity data released by the global travel data provider Official Airline Guide (OAG).
The hubs included in the ranking are Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten; I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali; and Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
Among the trio, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport achieved the highest position, placing second overall across the region with a scheduled capacity of 3.32 million seats for the month. I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport ranked ninth with 1.30 million seats, while Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport completed the top 10 list with 953,513 seats.
Regional Growth and Capacity Shift
The data published by OAG on Monday, 3 August 2026, compares scheduled capacity for July 2026 against figures from the same calendar month in 2025.
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport experienced a 3.2 per cent year-on-year increase in seat capacity, rising from 3.22 million seats recorded in July 2025. This growth consolidated its second-place standing in Southeast Asia, trailing only Singapore’s Changi Airport, which led the region with 3.56 million seats.
In contrast, the remaining two Indonesian gateways recorded annual declines in scheduled capacity. I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport saw its seat numbers contract by 3.5 per cent year-on-year.
Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport experienced a steeper reduction, with scheduled capacity falling by 11.3 per cent compared to July 2025 levels.
