TransNusa is set to expand its international network with the launch of a new direct service connecting Bali and Phuket, offering travellers easier access between two of Southeast Asia’s most popular holiday destinations.
The new Denpasar (DPS)–Phuket (HKT) route will commence on September 9, 2026, operating four times a week. The airline said the service is part of its strategy to strengthen Bali’s position as an international hub while supporting tourism, trade, and economic ties between Indonesia and Thailand.
TransNusa Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Bernard Francis, said the new route marks another important step in the airline’s international expansion.
“This new route between Bali and Phuket, Thailand, was established to boost tourism in the region and to further strengthen TransNusa’s hub in Bali,” Datuk Bernard said.
“With the launch of this new route, TransNusa now has four international scheduled flights from Bali, including Perth, Australia, Singapore, and Guangzhou, China,” he added.
According to Datuk Bernard, the addition of the Phuket service further supports the airline’s long-term vision of positioning Bali as one of TransNusa’s key international gateways.
He noted that growing demand for travel within Southeast Asia has created opportunities to introduce more direct connections between destinations across the region.
“In addition to supporting the tourism sector, this new service is also expected to strengthen economic relations between Indonesia and Thailand by increasing business travel and strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries,” he said.
The airline expects the route to attract a broad range of travellers, including holidaymakers, families, business travellers, digital nomads, and adventure enthusiasts.
Flights Operate Four Times a Week
Ticket sales for the Bali–Phuket route opened on July 3, 2026, through TransNusa’s official website and online travel agencies.
Flights will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, with promotional fares starting from IDR 2,999,000.
The route will be served by a 174-seat Airbus A320. Flight 8B 541 is scheduled to depart I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali at 8:50 a.m. WITA, arriving at Phuket International Airport at 11:50 a.m. local time.
The return service, Flight 8B 542, will depart Phuket at 1:50 p.m. local time and arrive in Bali at 6:50 p.m. WITA, with a flight time of approximately four hours.
Passengers travelling on the route can choose from three fare options: SEAT, SEAT-PLUS, and FLEXI-PRO.
The SEAT package includes 20 kilograms of checked baggage and 7 kilograms of cabin baggage. Meanwhile, the FLEXI-PRO package offers additional benefits, including 30 kilograms of checked baggage, complimentary seat selection, meals and beverages, priority boarding, flexible flight changes, and refunds in accordance with the airline’s policy.

Part of Wider International Expansion
The Bali–Phuket service forms part of TransNusa’s broader international growth strategy during the second half of 2026.
Earlier, the airline announced the launch of its Jakarta–Bangkok route, which is scheduled to begin operations on August 6, 2026.
With the addition of both routes, TransNusa aims to expand connectivity between Indonesia and key destinations across the Asia-Pacific region while strengthening Bali’s role within its international network.
“Passengers can look forward to the launch of several new international and domestic flight routes before the end of 2026. This step is part of TransNusa’s strategy to continue strengthening Bali as one of our international hubs,” Datuk Bernard said.
The airline said the expansion reflects its commitment to providing more travel options for passengers while supporting regional tourism and business connectivity.
