Indonesia’s Most Frequent International Visitors: January–May 2025

Indonesia continues to be a top travel destination for international visitors, particularly from neighbouring countries and regional partners.

Based on recent data from the Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS), Malaysia has emerged as the leading country of origin for international tourists visiting Indonesia during the first five months of 2025.

List of Top 10 Source Countries for Foreign Tourists

From January to May 2025, a total of 1,004,489 Malaysian visitors entered Indonesia, with the highest number recorded in May at 238,497 arrivals. The monthly breakdown is as follows:

  • January: 221,474
  • February: 214,605
  • March: 159,895
  • April: 170,018
  • May: 238,497

In second place is Australia, consistently showing strong travel interest with over 100,000 visitors per month. The country recorded its highest figure in April, with 149,694 visitors, followed closely by May with 147,650. The full monthly figures are:
