Heavy rain that has continued since Sunday, 22 February 2026, has caused flooding in several parts of Bali, particularly in Denpasar and Badung. The Bali Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that dozens of locations were inundated after persistent rainfall and strong winds affected the island.

According to the Bali BPBD, 26 locations in Denpasar and Badung experienced flooding within a 12-hour period between 6:00 p.m. on Monday and 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, Central Indonesian Time (WITA). Floodwater levels ranged between 30 centimetres and 80 centimetres.

The Head of Bali BPBD, I Gede Agung Teja Bhusana Yadnya, said authorities had mobilised emergency personnel to respond to the situation.

“The provincial BPBD has deployed 80 personnel, and off-duty employees have also been summoned. I have requested the same from the Denpasar and Badung BPBDs,” he said, as reported by Detiknews.

Officials are continuing evacuation and monitoring efforts in affected areas.

Multiple urban areas affected in Denpasar

Several neighbourhoods in Denpasar reported flooding, with water levels reaching up to 80 centimetres in some locations. Areas affected included Griya Anyar Street near the Dewa Ruci intersection, Ngurah Rai Bypass Road in Sanur, and Tukad Badung Street in Renon.

Flooding was also recorded in Sesetan, Sidakarya, and other parts of South Denpasar, including Hangtuah Street, Pulau Ayu Selatan Street, and Jalan Imam Bonjol. Water levels in these areas ranged between 30 centimetres and 50 centimetres.

Other affected locations included Panjaitan Street and Puputan Street in Renon, Sekuta Street and Pungutan Street in Sanur, and Antasura Street. Residential alleys and smaller roads were also inundated.

Authorities advised residents, particularly those living near rivers, to remain alert.

“For those near rivers, always check for rising water levels. Prepare valuables in a standby bag so they can be quickly evacuated if needed,” Teja said.

Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds continued to affect Denpasar on Tuesday afternoon.

Evacuations began at accommodation facilities on Jalan Pantai Jerman at around 8:00 a.m. WITA on Tuesday. SAR personnel conducted sweeps and assisted hotel guests in relocating to safer locations.
