Denpasar Hotel Occupancy Rate Reached 54%

Share:

25th October 2022 – Hotel occupancy rate in Denpasar, Bali is currently recorded at 54% on average. The Head of the Denpasar City Tourism Office, MA Dezire Mulyani, hopes that it can reach 60% to 70% by the end of the year.

The rise of tourists in Denpasar has happened since the Lebaran holiday which is in May. Furthermore, there is a significant increase on August 2022 with recorded occupancy rates of up to 70% to 80%.

Currently, the number of tourists in Bali is dominated by domestic tourists however, there are also a couple of foreign tourists namely from Europe, Australia and India.

Recently, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said that the average number of tourists visiting Bali is above 10,000 per day.

Additionally, there are more than 894,667 foreign tourists from January to August 2022 in Bali. Thus, the Minister is confident that despite the threats of recession, the target of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia in 2022 can be achieved.

He also hopes that Denpasar City can be visited by foreign delegates for the G20 Summit, which brings about 45% increase in Bali Tourism during its run. Furthermore, the success of the G20 Summit will hopefully bring a positive impact on Indonesia, namely the Island of the Gods.

One of the biggest concerns for the success of the G20 Summit is the flash flood that has been happening around major cities in Indonesia, including Bali. However, the Government of the Bali Province has confirmed the preparation of the summit that falls from the 15th to the 16th of November 2022.

Furthermore, Uno has stated that currently, all parties are collaborating on mitigating flash floods and landslides in Bali. One of those efforts is by The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) holding a Table Top Exercise (TTX) or Tactical Floor Game (TFG).
