August 5, 2022 – Bulgarian man deported by The Labuan Bajo Immigration Office. The foreigner with the initials MGS was deported to his country (Bulgaria) through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta.

Head of the Labuan Bajo Immigration Office, Jaya Mahendra said the deportation process was a form of follow-up to the Immigration Administrative Action (TAK) for violating Article 75 Paragraph 1 of Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. The deportation process has been carried out since Monday (1/8/2022).

Mahendra, in a written statement received by Kompas.com, Thursday (4/8/2022), explained that previously, MGS was a prisoner of Ruteng Class II B Rutan with a case related to Electronic Information and Transactions and violated Article 30 Paragraph (3) of Law NO. 2016.

He said MGS was handed over to Labuan Bajo Immigration because his detention period had ended. He continued, after completing his prison term of 3 years, MGS was transferred to the Labuan Bajo Immigration Office Detention Room to await the schedule for deportation. In the process, the implementation of the deportation was accompanied by officers from the Labuan Bajo Immigration Office from Komodo Airport to Soekarno Hatta International Airport on Monday (1/8/2022).

When MGS is handed over to Immigration, the deportation process started with checking over his Bulgarian citizenship, such as taking photos, fingerprints, and other completeness of documents, then proceeding with a baggage check and a health check at the clinic to ensure that the person concerned is healthy.

He added that the deportation was carried out on Tuesday (2/8/2022), starting with an administrative examination of MGS. MGS departs for Kuala Lumpur and Dubai, then on to Sofia Airport, Bulgaria.

This deportation act is a concrete form of immigration law enforcement against foreigners residing in the territory of Indonesia. So that all foreigners in Indonesia can comply with applicable regulations. Mahendra also emphasized that MGS would be proposed on the banned list to enter Indonesia.
