Two Uzbek citizens with the initials OMM alias IM (28) and MR (26) have been named as suspects in the fatal assault on a Class 1 Immigration officer in North Jakarta. OMM and MR were arrested on suspicion of terrorism along with two other perpetrators, BA alias JF (32) and BKA (40).

“(OMM and MR) are (suspects),” confirmed a spokesman for Densus 88 Anti-terror Police Commissioner Aswin Siregar on Thursday, the 13th of April 2023.

Aswin stated that his party would work with Polda Metro Jaya on this case. He stated that the two had been charged as suspects in the murder of an immigration officer.

“An investigation into the murder case will be conducted in collaboration with Polda Metro Jaya,” he stated.

Previously, Densus 88 Anti-Terror Police arrested four Uzbek citizens for terrorism propaganda on social media. BA alias JF (32), OMM alias IM (28), BKA (40), and MR (26) are the initials of the four Uzbek citizens.

Following their arrest, three Uzbek citizens attacked officers at the North Jakarta Immigration Class I office before fleeing. Two were re-arrested, and one with the initials BA died, allegedly by suicide.

“Three of them managed to escape, and the other one remained or did not want to run away,” said Aswin Siregar, a spokesman for Densus 88 Anti-Terror Police Commissioner, to journalists at Police Headquarters on Tuesday (11/4).

“One person was discovered dead in Kali Sunter; he died after jumping into the river and drowning.” “His body has been transported to Kramat Jati Hospital for an autopsy,” Aswin added.
