The Trans Resort Bali – Iconic 5 Star Living in Seminyak

Share:

The Trans Resort Bali — One of the most famous and iconic hotels on Sunset Road is the Trans Resort, located in Seminyak and is renowned for its quality, facilities, as well as its superb service.

I stayed in this hotel for 7 weeks in total during one of the worst periods during the Covid pandemic, so unfortunately during this time, many of the facilities were closed and lots of the iconic features were not in use, such as the waterfall, the jaccuzi and spa facilities, as well as the famous rooftop bar, although was fortunate enough to enjoy the hotel when it was quieter and more tranquil than it usually would be.

First impressions

When you arrive at the Trans, you exit from the hustle and bustle of Sunset Road and enter under some extremely impressive gates, which wouldn’t look amiss at Jurassic park. Once away from the road, it is apparent you have entered a luxurious hotel and the walls are aligned with impressive fountains and peaceful greenery lining the property.

The hotel lobby is vast. Extremely high ceilings, Balinese art and furniture is everywhere, and it really does have some wow factor about it. If you ever go, take a few seconds to take it all in and enjoy the ambiance, it truly is one of the most impressive hotel foyers in Bali.

The Room

I stayed in the Premier room which overlooked the swimming pool. The view from the room was nice and the balcony had a small day bed, as well as a jacuzzi bath, which was a nice treat after a long day. The room itself was classically designed and spacious, with marble floors, marble counter tops, and local art. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were like clouds of heaven. It isn’t the most modern of rooms, however, it is tastefully eloquent and has a feel of luxury to it.

There are multiple light settings you can choose from and it took me a little while to get my head around how to turn on and off all the lights, but once I got used to it, I picked my preferred lighting.

I particularly liked the bathroom which had a bathtub, a rain shower and his and her sinks. Travelling alone on this occasion this room provided ample space and I thoroughly enjoyed my time relaxing in this room.

Facilities

The hotel facilities are great, the pool is sectioned into 3 parts, one part which has a small beach and a sand floor, a large contemporary pool area, as well as a private pool area which has rooms that have direct pool access. The pool being divided as it is allows everyone to enjoy it, as well as provide a safe haven for guests that bring children.

The gym is very good for a hotel gym and has a variety of equipment to suit most people’s requirements. Plenty of weight and cardio equipment is available and there are also 2 yoga studios. The changing rooms are huge and tastefully designed. As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, the spa facilities were closed, so I never got to use them, but there is a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and what I assume was a plunge pool.

Additional facilities to note were the children’s play area, a table tennis table, a club lounge and a separate spa for massage treatments.

Food

Spending as long as I did at the resort, surprisingly I didn’t get too fed up with the breakfast menu. The kitchen staff couldn’t do enough to help and were happy to cater to my individual requests and preferences. They offer an A’la carte menu, as well a breakfast buffet which changed daily.

They had a good selection of juices in particular the detox juice, which I had every single day, and the desert menu was also very good for a buffet.

The only negative for me personally was the lack of pork products, beef bacon and chicken sausages just don’t quite hit the same spot in my opinion and I assumed as a 5 star hotel in Bali, there would be pork options.

The lunch and dinner menu was pretty good and had a variety of Western and Asian dishes; however, was rather pricy and many of the items popped up during the breakfast buffet so I didn’t dine there much.

The staff

When I arrived at the hotel the staff were extremely well mannered, polite and lovely. They were experts in their positions and were very helpful.

As I went during the pandemic, the staff were often on rotas, particularly in the restaurant area, so unfortunately, they changed frequently and the levels of expertise and attentiveness varied; overall however, they did their best to look after me.

The reception team were absolutely fantastic throughout the stay, so would totally commend the levels of professionalism in this area.

Would I go back?

Despite spending almost 2 months here, I definitely would. I would love to see the hotel in full swing, with all the facilities open again and to see the vibe change with a full house. I was personally very sad to not get to visit the famous rooftop bar, but will most definitely make an excuse to come back to check out the views.
