Wolobobo Ngada Festival to Promote Nature Tourism

19th September 2022 – The Wolobobo Ngada Festival offers a series of activities until 24th September 2022. Through Wolobobo Culture Camp is held on the first day on Thursday (15/9) at the back of Crater 1 Wolobobo is the Wolobobo Mountain Walk which was attended by more than 300 participants and was opened by the Regent of Ngada, Andreas Paru. He also led the 10km Mountain Walk activity through the hills, valleys, and forests.

Not only are challenges present during the walk, but participants can also experience cultural and culinary attractions in the rest area as well as the beautiful view of Mount Inerie and the bamboo forest.

On this occasion, the Regent of Ngada invites all participants to enjoy what nature has offered as long as experience the culture and various local food during the journey to the finish line in Langa Gedha.

Additionally, Langa Gedha is one of the traditional villages located in Bajawa District, Ngada Regency.

According to Paru, the Wolobobo Mountain Walk is a symbol of unity and a form of promotion for Wolobobo as not only a camping ground but also as a variant of natural and cultural attractions.

The President and Director of the Implementation Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF), Shana Fatina, also participated in the Wolobobo Culture Camp and put her appreciation for the event.

She added that the Culture Camp can also be a reference for tourists who wants to explore Flores. Which, tourists can explore Ngada through festivals, sports tourism, culture walk, and mountain walk and buy Ngada’s top products such as coffee, weaving and bamboo products.

This event is a collaboration of three local youth communities that is, Langa Tracking Community, Pokdarwis, and Jagatnata, which acts as a guide for participants through three checkpoints. Starting from Wolobobo hill, through three Wolobobo areas that is the Su’a crater, Wae Rua crater, and Ana Siu or Piri crater.
