West Bali is Set to be The Island’s Next Biggest Tourist Destination

West Bali is one of the most stunning locations on the Island of the Gods. As a tourism destination, the region has much to offer for all visitors. It is home to undulating jungle hills, pristine coastal ecosystems, and the exquisite West Bali National Park.

For years, West Bali has been hailed as Bali’s next top tourist destination, poised to receive massive investment to provide visitors from all over the world with access to the facilities and resources they need to experience the vacation of a lifetime.

The return on the investment is now beginning to materialise. Gilimanuk Harbor will undergo extensive reconstruction, as stated by Bali officials. This will facilitate traveller connections to East Java and spur more tourism growth in the much underappreciated Jembrana Regency.

Several improvements will be made to more than just Giliamanuk Harbor; work is already well underway on the Giliamanuk-Denpasar Toll Road, which will make it simpler for visitors to get around the island, and progress is being made on the development of the Paramount Pictures theme park in West Bali.

Reporters were informed by I Nengah Tamba, the Regent of Jembrana, that more than 7 million domestic and foreign tourists visit Giliamanuk Harbor annually.

Tamba stated that more capacity is required at this Bali entrance point to accommodate tourists better.

The region would be enhanced as a tourist destination, Regent Tamba informed the media, adding that the modernisation of Gilimanuk Harbor and nearby infrastructure will be carried out with great attention to detail.

By the end of 2026, according to plans, the improvements for the new and upgraded Gilimanuk Harbor will be mostly finished, with the last touches coming in 2027.

The project in Gilimanuk is expected to improve tourism relations with the nearby East Java city of Banyuwangi.

Buleleng and Jembrana, two of the nine regencies on the island, make up West Bali. Even though the Badung Regency is home to popular tourist destinations like Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Canggu, Nusa Dua, and Uluwatu, there is another side of Bali to see only a few hours to the west.

Currently, West Bali offers every piece of tourism infrastructure a traveller could want, including gorgeous international hotels, a staggering selection of restaurants and cafés, and natural treasures frequently free from the hustle and bustle of southern tourists.
