Visitors can enjoy free entry to Taman Impian Jaya Ancol during Ramadan 2026, offering a chance to experience one of Jakarta’s favourite seaside destinations without paying the regular entrance fee.

The promotion runs from 18 February to 18 March 2026, allowing visitors to enter Ancol free of charge between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM WIB. The announcement was shared through Ancol’s official Instagram account, @ancoltamanimpian.

However, visitors must reserve their tickets in advance. Reservations must be made at least one day before the visit through the official website, ancol.com. The booking period began on 16 February 2026 and will remain open until 18 March 2026.

Each person can reserve a maximum of two free tickets per day. The free entry applies only to individual admission. It does not include vehicle entry fees or tickets for recreational attractions, such as Dunia Fantasi, Sea World, or other paid facilities inside the complex.

Beyond its role as a tourist destination, Ancol also has historical significance. According to the Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), the name “Ancol” refers to land that juts into the sea, similar to a cape. It can also describe brackish land, where saltwater and freshwater mix.

The name reflects the area’s natural condition during the Dutch colonial period. At the time, seawater often flooded nearby land and mixed with river water, creating a salty environment. Because of this, the Dutch referred to the area as Zoutelande, meaning “Salty Land.”

The area’s tourism potential was recognised as early as the 17th century by Dutch East Indies Governor Adriaan Valckenier. Today, Ancol has evolved into a large recreational complex that combines beaches, parks, and entertainment facilities in one location.

Ancol has remained one of Jakarta’s most popular recreational areas since its establishment in 1968. The coastal destination attracts visitors of all ages, from families with children to young adults looking for an easy escape from the city.

How to Get to Ancol

The Commuter Line, also known as the KRL, is one of the easiest ways to reach Ancol using public transport. Visitors travelling from Jakarta Kota Station can take the train towards Tanjung Priok Station and get off at Kampung Bandan Station.

From there, Ancol is around 1.5 kilometres away, which takes about five minutes by motorcycle taxi, either online or from a local base.

Visitors coming from Bogor Station can take the Commuter Line towards Jakarta Kota and also stop at Kampung Bandan Station. The same route applies to passengers travelling from Bekasi Station, with Kampung Bandan serving as the closest rail access point.

Alternatively, visitors can travel directly from Jakarta Kota Station to Ancol by motorcycle taxi. The journey takes around six minutes, depending on traffic.
