PPKM Level 2 Regulations in Indonesia – To fight the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the government has recently extended the implementation of leveling Community Activity Restrictions – Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat (PPKM). According to the latest update from the government, the number of Level 1 areas was lowered from 128 to 114 as a result of the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Numbers 33 and 34 of 2022, which were signed on July 4.

All of these provisions are contained in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Numbers 33 and 34 of 2022 which was signed by the Minister of Home Affairs M Tito Karnavian on July 4, 2022. To find out more details, the following are the regulations for community activities during PPKM Level 1 and 2 in Indonesia.

First, they recently loosened the requirements for holding sporting events in PPKM Level 2 and 1 regions. According to the most recent law, sports events can hold 100 percent capacity of the stadium in level 1 PPKM regions.

While this is going on, the audience capacity for sporting events being held in level 2 PPKM regions like Jabodetabek is still 75 percent. According to Safrizal ZA, Director General of Regional Administration at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the PeduliLindungi application would be used as a screening process for all participants, authorities, media teams, support workers, and spectators.

The government also stipulates rules that PPKM Level 1 regional offices or non-essential sector activities can operate 100 percent, and companies are required to use the PeduliLindungi application at the entrance and exit of the workplace. Meanwhile, in the PPKM Level 2 Jabodetabek and Sorong districts, 25 percent of Work from Home (WFH) and 75 percent of WFO are implemented.

Some places such as malls, cinemas, cafes, or restaurants in PPKM level 1 area can operate with a maximum capacity of 100 percent and only visitors with the green category in the PeduliLindungi application may enter. Though it’s only required to apply a maximum capacity of 75 percent in Jabodetabek and Sorong.

Please note that the implementation of leveling Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) to deal with the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic both in the Java-Bali and outside Java-Bali areas has been extended starting today, July 5 to August 1.
