The Director of Drugs at the Bali Police, Kombes Iwan Eka Putra, revealed that this foreigner came to Bali with the aim of having a vacation while having a methamphetamine party. The perpetrators packed the narcotics into several capsules so that they looked like medicine.

Escaped at 3 Airports in Malaysia

Eka Putra said the Malaysian man was able to escape inspection at three airports in Malaysia thanks to his expertise in hiding the methamphetamine. He started his journey from Limbang Airport, Sarawak, then transited at Khucing Airport, Sarawak, before departing from Kuala Lumpur Airport, Malaysia.

From there, he entered Indonesia through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Wednesday (3/8/2022), and was detected by the airport Customs team before being immediately arrested.

Contains Methamphetamine

Eka Putra revealed, from laboratory examinations that the drug capsules filled with clear crystals did contain narcotics of the type methamphetamine. Methamphetamine itself is a powerful, highly addictive stimulant that affects the central nervous system. It takes the form of a white, odorless, bitter-tasting crystalline powder that easily dissolves in water or alcohol. It causes increased activity and talkativeness, decreased appetite, and a pleasurable sense of well-being or euphoria. In Indonesia, this narcotic substance is known as “sabu-sabu

For his actions, this Malaysian foreigner was charged with Article 127 letter A of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics as an abuser for oneself. With a maximum of 4 years of imprisonment.

After being handed over to the Bali Police, the weight of the methamphetamine brought by the foreigner is about zero points and a few grams. Because as Eka Putra previously said, the perpetrator intended to have a methamphetamine party during his vacation in Bali.
