For expats living in Bali, Nuanu Creative City has become one of the island’s most interesting destinations for art, culture and leisure. Spread across 44 hectares on Bali’s southwest coast, the creative development is home to attractions such as the Earth Sentinels sculpture, Luna Beach Club, Aurora Media Park and Magic Garden. It is also home to Labyrinth Art Gallery, a contemporary art space that combines the atmosphere of an arts centre with the accessibility of an art marketplace.
This July, Nuanu is expanding its visual arts programme through a collaboration with two independent Indonesian art collectives, presenting Lucid Dreams and Repetisi Memori (Memory Repetition). Running simultaneously from 18 July to 18 August 2026, the exhibitions bring together 17 contemporary artists from Bali and Yogyakarta, showcasing works across painting, installation and mixed media.
Nuanu Collaborates with Independent Art Collectives
The exhibitions were developed in partnership with Bali-based Ruang Fungsi and Yogyakarta-based Pando Art Collective, reflecting Nuanu’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s independent creative communities while providing greater exposure for emerging and established artists.

As a platform that fosters creativity and cultural exchange, we are very excited to witness the conversations, collaborations and new experiences that will emerge from these encounters—both for our guests and for the community that forms part of Nuanu,” said Lev Kroll, CEO of Nuanu Creative City.
Pando Art Collective presents Lucid Dreams, curated by Samuel David. The exhibition explores the relationship between imagination, memory and the subconscious through symbolic and intuitive works. Participating artists include Faisal Siddiq, Afiq Andico, Arif Fiyanto, Rifqi Soenandar, Aly Waffa, Ari Wuryanto and Ijal Mariachi.
Meanwhile, Repetisi Memori (Memory Repetition) by Ruang Fungsi examines how memory is continuously reshaped by personal experiences, places and the passage of time. The exhibition features works by Denny Novikar, Sirin Farid Stevy, Surya Subratha, Ade Habibie, Andre Yoga, Ichi Dilaga, Aharimu, Sastia Naresvari, Naomi Samara and Natasha Lubis.
A Growing Platform for Contemporary Art in Bali
Beyond presenting exhibitions, the collaboration aims to strengthen connections between independent art communities across Indonesia and introduce their work to wider audiences visiting Bali.
“There are many independent collectives in Indonesia producing compelling works and programmes, but they often lack visibility outside their hometowns. One of the things we want to do through Labyrinth is to create an opportunity for these communities to present their artists in Bali and introduce them to new audiences. We hope this will be the beginning of more collaborations in the future,” said Kelsang Dolma, Director of Special Art Projects at Nuanu Creative City.
Both Lucid Dreams and Repetisi Memori (Memory Repetition) are open to visitors at Labyrinth Art Gallery from 18 July to 18 August 2026. The exhibitions are included with general admission to Nuanu, making them an accessible cultural experience for expats and travellers looking to discover Bali’s contemporary art scene.
