Indonesian Immigration Arrests Portuguese Woman Wanted in Murder Case

Indonesian immigration authorities have arrested a Portuguese woman listed on an international wanted notice in connection with a premeditated murder case in her home country.

The woman, identified as MG (30), was detained at the South Jakarta Immigration Office while processing immigration documents.

Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman said the arrest was carried out by a joint team consisting of officers from the Directorate General of Immigration, the South Jakarta Immigration Office, and Interpol through the Indonesian National Central Bureau (NCB).

According to Yuldi, the operation began after immigration intelligence received information that MG would visit the South Jakarta Immigration Office to process her residence permit documents.

“Based on this information, officers immediately monitored the location since morning,” Yuldi said in an official statement on Monday (March 9, 2026).

At around 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, MG arrived at the immigration office and went through the standard administrative procedure. After completing the paperwork and heading towards her vehicle, officers moved in and arrested her.

Arrest Linked to Interpol Red Notice

Yuldi said the arrest followed a request for assistance related to an Interpol Red Notice.

The request was submitted through the International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police on February 24, 2026.

Immigration records show that MG first entered Indonesia on June 10, 2025, using a two-month visitor stay permit. She later obtained a limited stay permit as a remote worker, which is valid until July 8, 2026.
Yuldi said the arrest was carried out without resistance.

“The security process is proceeding smoothly and conducively. Currently, she has been taken to the Directorate General of Immigration for further questioning and detention. MG’s deportation will take place on Monday, March 9, 2026,” Yuldi said.

MG is currently being held in a detention facility at the Directorate General of Immigration while authorities coordinate further legal procedures.

Alleged Murder Case in Portugal

According to international police records, MG is suspected of involvement in a murder case that occurred in the Algoz region of Portugal in March 2020.

Authorities allege that MG and an accomplice planned the killing of a man identified as DG. Investigators believe the motive was to seize the victim’s compensation money, which amounted to approximately €70,000.

Police reports state that the suspects allegedly drugged the victim before strangling him. Investigators also allege that the perpetrators attempted to dismember the body in order to access banking data stored on the victim’s mobile phone.

The body was later disposed of in the sea.

Indonesian immigration authorities confirmed that MG is currently under detention while the government processes the necessary procedures for her deportation to Portugal.

Once deported, she is expected to face legal proceedings in accordance with Portuguese law.
