26th October 2022 – The Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, has officially launched a second home visa policy.

This policy refers to Circular Letter (SE) Number IMI-0740.GR.01.01 of 2022 concerning the Authorizing of Visas and Limited Stay Permits for Second Houses issued on Tuesday (25/10).

The Acting Director General of Immigration, Widodo Ekatjahjana, said that during the implementation of the G20 Summit (High-Level Conference), the second home visa is officially launched in order to attract foreign tourists to Bali and other various destinations.

The visa policy will be in effect 60 days after the circular was issued. The second home visa is for specific foreign nationals and ex-Indonesian citizens who wish to stay and contribute positively to the Indonesian economy. With this visa, the holder can stay in Indonesia for five to ten years, with various permitted activities such as investing or working.

Application for the second home visa can be made through a website-based application at visa-online.imigrasi.go.id with the following documents required:

  • A passport with a validity of a minimum of 36 days
  • Proof of fund in the form of a foreigner or guarantor’s account with a value of at least IDR 2 billion or equivalent
  • Recent 4×6 coloured photograph with a white background
  • Curriculum Vitae

In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Finance (PMK) Number 2 of 2022, the rate of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) for a second home visa is IDR 3 million. Payment of PNBP rates for the visa can be made outside the territory of Indonesia through available PNBP payment portals.

The talk for the release of a second home visa has been discussed to help investors convenience and efficiency in the immigration process. This was first brought up by Ekatjahjana during his visit to the Consulate General of Japan which was positively welcomed.
