E-Tickets to Penglipuran Village Bali Available for Visitors

25th August 2022 – Penglipuran Village in Bangli Regency, Bali, now implements an electronic ticket or e-ticket for visitors. The village is one of the destinations nominated as the third cleanest village in the world by Green Destinations Foundation since 21 August 2022.

“For the time being, we are still focusing on cash. But as of 1st September, we would start switching to cashless payments. Though, it is possible that we are still accepting cash payment afterward,” said I Wayan Sumiarsa, Manager of Penglipuran Tourism Village.

Entrance fee prices are still the same as stated on their official website. With adult domestic tourists at IDR 25,000 and IDR 50,000 for adult foreign tourists. For children, it’s IDR 15,000 for domestic and IDR 30,000 for foreigners.

According to Sumiarsa, the management team has been given proper training to adapt the e-ticket systems. Penglipuran Village still uses a manual ticketing system however, it’s considered less flexible in terms of recapitulating the number of visitors and revenue per day.

That’s because the number of visitors can only be counted after the visiting hours are over. The recapitulating process also takes a long time and is prone to miscalculations. There are times when the tickets would stick together, resulting in a difference between the amount of money and the tickets sold at the end of the calculation.

The E-ticket system is considered more effective and transparent. The number of visitors and the income can be calculated in real-time from a monitor. This can also minimalize the occurrence of giving double tickets for one visitor.

Penglipuran Village often received incident reports about the difference in the number of visitors reported with the actual number of visitors who came. To solve this, the team has checkers to count the number of guests and coordinate with ticketing officers before entering the Penglipuran Village.

How it goes is that visitors cannot do ticket transactions before being checked by the checker officers to prevent different numbers of visitors reported and tickets sold.
