“The release hasn’t occurred thus far. Perhaps it will follow a regular service mechanism, not categorized as a vaccine program. Currently, there are both unpaid program vaccines and non-program vaccines. However, we’re awaiting the Ministry of Health’s guidelines,” stated the Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Service.

Certain groups, like the elderly and other vulnerable demographics, are exempt from vaccination expenses. Until 31st December 2023, individuals can still obtain free vaccines at Community Health Centers or other government health facilities.

In February 2023, the Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, approximated the potential cost of the COVID-19 vaccine if it were to become a paid service. He mentioned that the price per dose might be approximately IDR 100,000. However, it’s important to note that this figure could still fluctuate as there hasn’t been an official decision made yet.

As of December 2023, the Indonesian Government utilizes 10 types of COVID-19 vaccines. Here are the details:

Vaccine Dose Interval
Sinovac 2 x (0,5 ml/dose) 28 days
