Seven Russian and Uzbek state drug network members were apprehended by the Bali Regional Police (Polda). They comprise six foreign nationals (WNA) and one Indonesian national (WNI). In addition to the drugs, the police seized three airsoft guns.

“What we have currently secured are seven suspected perpetrators,” said Deputy Director of Narcotics Research (Wadirresnarkoba) Bali Police AKBP Ponco Indriyo at a press conference at his office on Tuesday, 30th of May 2023.

Azamat Babniyazov of Uzbekistan, Sugiharto of Indonesia, Khamidov Magomed, Komarov Denis, and Romanov Denis of Russia were arrested. The five were presented at a press conference at the Bali Police Narcotics Directorate.

Meanwhile, the remaining two Uzbek drug network members with the initials YO and MA were not shown because both were turned over to immigration.

“We secured the seven people in multiple locations. “Because there were four incidents or four locations, we will divide the case we are handling into four reports,” he explained.

Ponco stated that the police initially detained two men, Azamat Babniyazov and Sugiharto, in the parking lot in front of the Ramayana Hotel, Jalan Bakung Sari, Tegal Kuta Neighbourhood, Kuta Village/District, Badung Regency. The arrest occurred on Wednesday, 24th of May 2023.

After receiving information from the public that the area was frequently used for marijuana-type narcotics abuse transactions, his party was able to arrest the two people. The Bali Police Narcotics Directorate seized 1,678 grammes net of marijuana, 67 grammes net of hashish, and three airsoft guns at the time of the arrest.

“The results of the interrogation of the drug network members’ initials AB and S carried out developments.” “As a result of this development, we finally arrested two men with the initials YO and MA,” Ponco said.

YO and MA were arrested at Hotel Dedy Beach INN, Jalan Kartika Plaza, Gang Samudra Number 55, Segara Neighbourhood, Kuta Village/District, Badung Regency, on the same day. They were apprehended around 10:30 p.m.

The Bali Police Directorate of Narcotics discovered up to 23 clear plastic packages as evidence while searching the body and boarding room. Each clear plastic bag contains 994 grammes of green powder, suspected of Nazwar-type narcotics.

“The Labfor examination results are indeed negative for the content of narcotics but positive for containing nicotine,” explained the former head of the Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) South Sulawesi Regional Police.

The Bali Police’s Directorate of Narcotics has again arrested two men from Uzbekistan. Khamidov Magomed was detained at a Jalan Bidadari Number 7 villa, Kerobokan Kelod Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency.

During the arrest and search of the perpetrator’s body and residence, the police found 39.23 grammes net of marijuana, 129.26 grams of hash, and 60.88 grams of cocaine.

Komarov Denis and Romanov Denis from Russia were arrested at a rented house on Jalan Yudistira, Banjar Tegal Suci, Tampaksiring Village/District, Gianyar Regency. During the search, the police found 101.4 grams net of marijuana and 7.64 grams of hashish in a black UFO-brand sling bag owned by the perpetrator.
