The victim’s body was found stranded on Secret Bay Beach in West Selemadeg District, Tabanan Regency, Bali Province, on Friday, October 18, 2024.

Head of Basarnas Bali, Nyoman Sidakarya, said that the victim’s body was found by the local community at around 07.30 am.

“The exact location of the discovery is about 1 kilometre west of the scene,” he said, as reported by Kompas.

The incident started when Mirco and his friend were swimming at Balian Beach. Meanwhile, Craig was taking a walk on the beach.

The current suddenly became strong and pulled Mirco into the middle of the sea. Mirco shouted for help. Craig, who heard Mirco’s voice, then entered the sea to save him.

Mirco managed to push Craig to the edge of the sea. However, the waves rolled him over and disappeared. Mirco and his friend then reported this incident to residents and beach security.

In a similar incident, Basarnas Bali evacuated the body of an Indian tourist who was swept away by the waves at Angel’s Billabong, Nusa Penida. Nusa Penida SAR Standby Unit Coordinator Cakra Negara in Denpasar said the evacuation process occurred on Thursday.
