After failing to pass the election as President of Indonesia and a candidate for governor in the 2024 Jakarta elections, Anies Baswedan’s activities did not automatically decrease.
Anies is now proud to be called a “pengacara”, aka pengangguran banyak acara (a person that is still active but unemployed), a commonly used Indonesian slang.
He even shared his LinkedIn profile with the status Open to Work, Monday, October 7, 2024. He uploaded the profile because right now, he claims to be a “pengacara”.
“Because I am currently a ‘pengacara’, someone suggested that I become a running athlete at GBK, climb a mountain, play in a waterfall, ride the public transport to stop at the National Library, go to Sarinah, and hang out at a coffee shop,” he was quoted as saying through his Instagram account @aniesbaswedan.

In his upload, which was liked by more than hundreds of thousands of users, Anies said that before doing all that, he did not forget to update his LinkedIn profile to Open to Work or Open to accepting jobs.
This arguably started when one of the netizens with the X @cnaraikoko account commented on Anies Baswedan’s activities while cycling on October 3, 2024.
“Abah is so me fr as an unemployed person. Soon he will become a running athlete at GBK, climb mountains, play in waterfalls, and hang out at coffee shops. Recommendations for activities include riding the public transport stop at the national library, staring, going to Sarinah, staring, eating, and going home,” tweeted the account owner.
A few days later, Anies Baswedan then responded to the tweet by quoting it and uploading his LinkedIn page with the hashtag #OpenToWork.
“For those who want to network with me via LinkedIn, please stop by here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/aniesrasyidbaswedan (click link tree in bio),” Anies wrote.
“Insha’Allah, I will regularly share related to leadership, professional self-development, and managerial skills. See you on LinkedIn,” he concluded.
Anies Baswedan Watches John Legend Concert
Although he no longer holds a public position, Anies is often seen giving seminars, attending exhibitions, and watching concerts.
One of the concerts he watched was An Evening With John Legend: A Night Of Songs And Stories. He came with his wife, Fery Farhati. Both of them felt the same enthusiasm when surrounded by the audience.
Not only Anies Baswedan but also Hetty Koes Endang, who also sat in the front row, became the highlight of one venue because Siti Nurhaliza greeted her during the performance.
On X or Twitter, Anies Baswedan uploaded a video of him choosing a John Legend song. In the edited video, he seems to shift the select list in the music application. Then, his choice fell on the song “All of Me.”
In the video, Anies Baswedan wrote, “Preparation for watching the concert tonight with Fery.” “First preparation before the concert date tonight. Please understand, lawyers,” he added.
