The Head of Public Relations of the Badung Police, Iptu I Ketut Sudana, revealed that Djelantik had previously received a complaint from Brooks, who had lost his bag at a villa in Tegallalang District, Gianyar.

According to Djelantik, the British tourist was swimming in the pool at the villa. After that, Brooks was shocked because the bag he put in the locker next to the swimming pool was missing.

“The victim who checked the CCTV saw the person who had taken his bag. He also checked the position of his cellphone, and it turned out that it was in the Canggu area,” said Sudana on Saturday, 29th of July, 2023.

Brooks then met Niluh Djelantik because Brooks knows Djelantik is very active on social media and often discusses issues such as theft that are happening to him now. The British tourist then asked the social media activist for help so that he would be taken to Canggu because the last time he tracked his cell phone, it was located in Canggu. They also came together to Canggu with the police and immediately arrested the Indian citizen as a suspect in this theft case.
