A Viral Video Caught a Foreigner Reportedly Hypnotising and Stealing Money from a Frozen Food Shop in Bali

A foreigner was caught on a CCTV camera tricking shop employees in Bali by hypnotising them and taking IDR 2.5 million from a frozen food shop in the Munggu-Tanah Lot highway area, Mengwi, Badung, Bali.

The foreigner was seen hypnotising the cashier of the frozen food shop on the CCTV camera.

The foreigner’s hypnotic action was recorded on the shop’s surveillance camera and went viral after being uploaded on social media. This incident also adds to the long list of foreigners misbehaving in Bali.

The video recording from the surveillance camera, which lasted about one minute, showed that the perpetrator hypnotised a frozen food shop employee in Mengwi. The foreigner initially reasoned that he wanted to buy a sauce bottle, but the item he wanted was not there.

In a white shirt and a baseball cap, the perpetrator approached the victim at the cashier, claiming he wanted to exchange money. It is during this conversation that he hypnotised the victim.

In an unconscious state due to being hypnotised, the victim opened the store’s cash register drawer. That foreigner immediately took a number of IDR 100,000 notes and counted them.

It didn’t stop there; that tall foreigner once again pointed towards the store’s cash drawer. This time he took a few more IDR 50,000 bills and counted them again at the cashier’s desk.

Unfortunately, the CCTV video on social media did not clearly depict him as hypnotising scam towards the shop’s cashier.

After draining the cashier’s cash worth IDR 2.5 million, the foreigner fled on a motorbike driven by a friend waiting in front of the shop.

The victim only realised what had happened when the foreign national had left the store. When checking the cashier’s drawer, the victim was surprised because IDR 2.5 million was missing.

Feby, the cashier at the frozen food shop, said that she was alone at the store at the time of the incident. The victim stated that she was deeply traumatised by the incident.

The hypnosis crime case committed by a foreign national in Mengwi, Bali, was then reported by the shop owner to the Badung Police Office, Bali.

According to the people’s statements around the crime scene, fraud and theft by hypnotising the victims committed by the perpetrator are currently affecting many small stores in the area.

Residents and shop owners in the area hope that the authorities will quickly investigate this case and be able to uncover cases of hypnosis fraud that have occurred among small shop owners in the area. However, this case is still under investigation and further details will follow the investigation result.
