The concerts by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli in Indonesia will proceed as scheduled, with performances set to take place at Borobudur Temple in Magelang, Central Java, on 31 October 2026, and at JIExpo Kemayoran in Central Jakarta on 3 November 2026.
Shoemaker Live, the promoter for the Indonesian leg of Bocelli’s Romanza 30th Anniversary World Tour, confirmed the arrangements on Tuesday, 27 October, following the completion of the necessary government approvals.
The promoter expressed its appreciation to the Indonesian Government for the permits, support and guidance that have enabled the concerts to move forward.
“We extend our deepest appreciation to all segments of society for fostering a healthy space for dialogue and a conducive environment regarding the hosting of a concert by an international musician, Maestro Bocelli, in Indonesia,” said Prajna Murdaya, founder of Shoemaker Live, in a statement.
The promoter also acknowledged the public discussion surrounding the concerts, which attracted attention over their timing and broader significance.
Concert Decision Follows Consideration of National Interests
According to Prajna, the decision to proceed with the performances followed careful consideration of various strategic national interests, particularly those relating to Indonesia’s tourism, cultural and creative economy sectors.
“We understand that for many, this concert holds a significance that goes beyond a mere musical performance. There is a profound concern for those currently facing conflict and loss. We have listened to every perspective with an open heart,” he said.
Prajna added that Bocelli’s performances would carry a message of peace, solidarity and hope, reflecting the tenor’s longstanding involvement in humanitarian causes.
“Maestro Bocelli consistently upholds humanitarian values and seeks to convey a message of hope for peace—especially to those who, to this day, have yet to experience it,” he said.
During the concerts, Bocelli is expected to dedicate a song to humanity and world peace, with particular attention to children and communities living amid war and suffering.
Shoemaker Live said the performances would provide an opportunity to express solidarity with people affected by conflict while bringing audiences together through music.
Andrea Bocelli Foundation Supports Humanitarian Initiatives
Bocelli has a longstanding record of humanitarian contributions through the Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF), which was established in 2011.
The foundation supports community empowerment initiatives, particularly those involving children and young people from vulnerable communities.
Its programmes include music education, cultural exchanges and psychosocial assistance, with the aim of expanding access to learning, developing young people’s potential and supporting communities affected by humanitarian crises.
The foundation also promotes capacity-building initiatives and uses music and the arts as tools for education and empowerment.
Drawing on these efforts, Shoemaker Live said it had invited Bocelli to Indonesia to share a message of world peace, unity and brotherhood, while expressing solidarity with children and communities affected by war.
As part of the concert initiative, the promoter is also organising a fundraising campaign to support humanitarian programmes around the world. The campaign includes a commitment to donate 100,000 pairs of shoes to children in Palestine and other war-affected regions.
Shoemaker Live said the initiative aims to promote compassion and solidarity among people, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs.

The two performances will form part of Bocelli’s Romanza 30th Anniversary World Tour, marking the anniversary of his album Romanza and bringing his music to audiences in Indonesia.
