Garmin Indonesia has officially announced the return of its annual running event, the 2026 Garmin Run Marathon Series – Indonesia, which will take place on 20 September 2026 at ICE BSD, Tangerang.

Now entering its fifth year in Indonesia, the event has been upgraded from the Garmin Run Asia Series to the Garmin Run Marathon Series, marking its largest expansion to date.

This year’s event adopts the theme “From Zero to Hero”, reflecting the personal journey of runners as they progress from taking their first steps to achieving new milestones. Alongside the new marathon series status, Garmin has increased the participant quota to 8,000 runners, making it the largest Garmin Run event ever held in Indonesia.

“The ‘From Zero to Hero’ philosophy is the core spirit of Garmin Run 2026. We believe every runner has their own unique journey, and Garmin Run is here to celebrate that journey.

In line with this, Garmin Run continues to evolve, from a regional event to part of the Garmin Run Marathon Series. The increase in the quota to 8,000 participants demonstrates our commitment to providing a larger, safer, and more competitive platform for every runner to celebrate their journey within the Garmin ecosystem,” said Rian Krisna, Marketing Communications Manager at Garmin Indonesia.

The event will feature four categories comprising 5K, 10K, Half Marathon (21K), and Kids Dash, allowing runners of various ages and abilities to participate. All races will take place within the ICE BSD area using routes designed to prioritise participant safety and comfort.

Event Focuses on Training, Sustainability and Inclusive Participation

Garmin said participants are encouraged to maximise the health and fitness features available through Garmin smartwatches, including Training Readiness, Recovery, and personalised Training Plans, to better prepare for race day.

According to Didit Santoso of DND Sports Management, preparations have also been strengthened to accommodate the larger event.

“With the increased scale of the 2026 Garmin Run Indonesia, the standards of the event are also continuously improved to ensure a safe, organised, and comfortable race experience for all participants,” he said.

The event also continues its sustainability programme through a partnership with Matters Project, which will organise educational activities and environmental initiatives within the race village.

“Positive environmental change starts with small, consistent steps. Through this collaboration with the 2026 Garmin Run Marathon Series – Indonesia, we hope that education about more responsible material use can directly reach participants and inspire a more realistic, sustainable lifestyle,” said Rony Rahardian, Co-Founder of Matters Project.

Garmin also said the event will continue promoting inclusivity by welcoming runners from diverse backgrounds, including participants with disabilities and families running with strollers.

Anggi Wahyuda, a member of #TeamGarmin and this year’s inclusivity ambassador, said the event reflects the different stages of every runner’s journey.

“Every runner has a starting point. Some start with a 5K, then move up to a 10K, and finally challenge themselves to a Half Marathon. The spirit of ‘From Zero to Hero’ makes Garmin Run the perfect place to celebrate each of those journeys,” he said.

Bank Saqu, Halodoc and Allianz Join as Official Partners

Garmin has also partnered with Bank Saqu as the Official Banking Partner. The bank is offering a 20% cashback promotion for new customers purchasing Garmin Run 2026 tickets through QRIS Bank Saqu payments using the referral code GARMINXBSQ.

The promotion is valid from 1 June to 19 September 2026 for the first 1,000 eligible users, subject to terms and conditions.

“Collaborating with Garmin on this global event is Bank Saqu’s step to be more accessible to active and fit lifestyles. We hope this partnership will not only provide financial benefits but also enrich our customers’ experiences. Bank Saqu is always with us on their financial and business journeys, from the initial stages to increasingly sustainable growth. The ‘From Zero to Hero’ philosophy of Garmin Run 2026 aligns with our belief that every great achievement begins with a small, consistent step. Therefore, we are enthusiastic about being part of this journey that inspires people to start early, grow consistently, and achieve the best version of themselves,” said Leka Madiadipoera, Acting President Director of Bank Saqu.

To strengthen participant safety, Garmin has once again partnered with Halodoc as the Official Health Partner and Allianz as the Official Insurance Partner.

Halodoc will require participants to complete a health pre-screening before race day using its AI-powered health assistant, HILDA, while also providing homecare services, including medical check-ups and vitamin C booster injections.

“The biggest risk in running events doesn’t just occur during the event, but when someone runs without knowing their health condition. Through this partnership, Halodoc, as the most comprehensive digital healthcare ecosystem, once again ensures that health pre-screening is not just a formality, but a concrete step that can provide each participant with an accurate and comprehensive picture of their health before starting,” said Rachel Sugeha, Vice President of Growth and Marketing at Halodoc.

Registration for the 2026 Garmin Run Marathon Series Indonesia officially opened on 25 June 2026 through the Galasin platform. Garmin encourages runners to register early due to the strong demand seen in previous editions of the event.
