Viral Video Shows Students from Indonesia Teaming Up to Save a Cat from a Pool

A viral video showing high school students rescuing a cat trapped in a swimming pool has drawn widespread attention online.

The clip opens with the cat stranded in the middle of a large school pool, struggling to stay afloat and unable to climb out.

Several students standing around the pool attempt different methods to help, from calling the cat closer to reaching out with long sticks. The cat, frightened and confused, keeps paddling away.

Their early attempts fail, and the atmosphere grows tense as the students realise the animal is tiring. The group then improvises.

One student removes his shoes, steps into the water, and slowly approaches the cat. The moment he lifts the cat into his arms, cheers erupt from friends watching from the poolside.

The video captures the relief clearly. The students guide the rescuer back to the edge, where others help him lift the cat out safely. The cat appears shaken but unharmed. The rescuer climbs out next, followed immediately by concerned classmates checking on him.

The clip has since gone viral internationally. The TikTok account @mustsharenews, known for sharing videos from across Asia, reposted it and has attracted more than 12 million views.

Viewers praised both the teamwork and the students’ instinct to help an animal in distress.

One commenter wrote, “THIS IS ACTUALLY WHOLESOME,” reflecting the general tone of support. Another added, “Schools in Indonesia look so fun,” responding to the lively atmosphere seen in the video.

Not all reactions were light-hearted. Some users expressed concern for the student who jumped into the pool, noting the risks of untreated or stagnant water. “PLS CHECK THE STUDENT’S HEALTH AFTER, IT’S STILL WATER,” one viewer wrote, encouraging the school to follow up with proper precautions.

Online Praise and Light Concerns After Viral Clip

Although the rescue appears successful, the clip prompted wider discussion about safety and awareness around school facilities. Many viewers applauded the instinctive kindness shown by the students, while others highlighted the importance of ensuring both the animal and the student rescuer receive proper care afterwards.

The school has not issued a public statement, but the video continues to circulate, drawing comments from both Indonesian and international viewers.
