iShowSpeed in Indonesia: Eating Rendang and Wearing the Indonesian National Team Jersey

Youtuber Darren Jason Watkins, or iShowSpeed, is visiting Indonesia as part of his Asia tour.

iShowSpeed is one of the most famous YouTubers in the world, with over 30 million subscribers. Recently, he surprised many by announcing that Indonesia was one of the destinations on his Asia tour.

Upon his arrival in Indonesia on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, iShowSpeed immediately tried out several tourist destinations. Some of them were the Kota Tua in Jakarta and he even visited the haunted house ride in the same area.

iShowSpeed was seen wearing batik and an Indonesian national team shirt, which became the centre of attention for people in Kota Tua, Jakarta.

The man who idolizes Cristiano Ronaldo was greeted by hundreds of fans, including children, teenagers, and older people.

He also responded to many people’s requests for pictures and autographs, and his cheerful behaviour invited many visitors to Kota Tua to approach him.

From the uploads circulating, iShowSpeed was confused by the unusual gift of deodorant given by his fans.

“What is this? Why did he just give me a natural deodorant?” he said.

Despite his confusion, he welcomed the deodorant gift. He even had time to use it in the armpit area. Another gift given by his fans was instant noodles. The Youtuber even asked how to cook the instant noodles.

Furthermore, iShowSpeed was seen eating Indonesian food Padang Rice, complete with Rendang. Suddenly, the YouTuber felt spicy while enjoying the Indonesian speciality.

“Spicy,” IShowSpeed was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.

IShowSpeed was then seen playing an angklung instrument, which made people scream.

“What is this?” said IShowSpeed ‘Angklung,’ replied the singer.

Live streaming hits 1 million

While exploring Indonesia, he also created a livestream that unexpectedly reached 1 million views.

When the audience reached 1 million in the first minutes of his live streaming, he seemed to be in tears of happiness until he ran his nose.

“Oh my god, one million viewers,” he said as if in disbelief and was greeted by the cheers of the masses who surrounded him in Kota Tua.

Until his live stream in Indonesia ended today, the number of viewers reached 14,598,613 views; wow!

“I LOVE YALL INDONESIA MY BIGGEST STREAM EVER????????????????,” he tweeted through his X account, @ishowspeedsui.

Who is iShowSpeed?

Those of you who don’t watch YouTube might not know who iShowSpeed is. He is known as an American YouTuber and livestreamer.

His real name is Darren Watkins Jr. He was born in Cincinnati on January 21, 2005.

His characteristic in presenting the broadcast is also quite unique. The reason is that iShowSpeed often plays video games such as Roblox, Fortnite, and FIFA during live streaming.

He has been a YouTuber since 2017. His name soared in 2021 due to the circulation of interesting clips during live broadcasts. He was also named Breakout Streamer of the Year at the 12th Streamy Awards in 2022.
