On 27th February 2024, the Immigration Office at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport introduced a new service called ‘WHOOSH’ aimed at expediting passport issuance. This express service promises to deliver passports within 30 minutes to 2 hours, significantly reducing the waiting time for travellers.

The introduction of WHOOSH is expected to enhance passport services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Ryo Achdar, Head of the Immigration Documents and Travel Division at Soekarno-Hatta, clarified that WHOOSH caters to individuals applying for new passports or seeking passport extensions.

“WHOOSH service specifically focuses on issuing new passports and extensions,” Ryo clarified. The UP3 acceleration service is situated on the 4th floor of the Soetta Airport Terminal 3 International Parking Building and caters to two passport categories: regular and urgent.

While the regular category has a daily quota of 30 passports, there is no limit for urgent passport requests. Urgent passport services are available for individuals facing imminent travel with passports expiring in less than 6 months or those requiring immediate extensions.

Passport services at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration Office operate every day from Monday to Sunday, from 8 AM to 11 AM. Applicants opting for one-day passport processing are subject to an accelerated PNBP fee of IDR 1,000,000, excluding the standard passport issuance fee. The fee for a regular passport is IDR 350,000, while an electronic passport costs IDR 650,000.

To apply for a regular passport, applicants can register and obtain a queue number directly through the Immigration Office’s Whatsapp at +62812-9238-1090. For urgent passport services, individuals can visit the UP3 office with their passport and plane ticket.
