Antonio C, a 56-year-old Brazilian tourists, met his demise while vacationing at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Klungkung, Bali (16/11/2023). While at the tourist attraction’s toilet, Antonio suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness.

As per information from Police Commissioner Ida Bagus Putra Sumerta, Chief of Nusa Penida Police, after descending to the beach, the two Brazilian tourists attempted to return to the parking area. However, the husband headed straight to the restroom to cool off due to feeling excessively hot. Shortly afterward, he collapsed and lost consciousness.

Antonio and his wife, Marilia (54 years old), were holidaying in Bali with a tour service, accompanied by a local guide named Kadek Indra Pramerta.

The tour guide, Indra, had explicitly warned the two middle-aged tourists against descending to the beach area due to its steep terrain. Despite his advice, they insisted on going and were granted permission only until 1 PM local time.

He waited stationed at the vehicle parking area for more than one hour and received reports around 2:30 PM local time from others about a tourist fainting in the restroom.

Hurriedly, Indra headed to the beach toilet area and confirmed that the tourist was from his tour group. He promptly contacted an ambulance from the Nusa Medica Clinic, which reached the site by 4 PM local time.

Upon reaching the clinic, it was discovered that the victim had passed away. The victim’s wife mentioned his history of heart disease. There’s a strong suspicion that the Brazilian tourists’ cause of death was a sudden heart attack. Consequently, arrangements were made to transport the Brazilian tourist body to Bali Mandara Hospital in Denpasar for repatriation to his home country.
