MRT Jakarta No Longer Serve Payments Using GoPay, OVO, and LinkAja

GoPay, OVO, Dana, and LinkAja platform-based train trip payment services were discontinued by PT. MRT Jakarta. As a result, customers may no longer purchase MRT tickets using these four payment methods.

Ahmad Pratomo, Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT. MRT Jakarta, stated that this new policy would be implemented from the beginning of July 2023.

“PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has modified the MRT Jakarta trip payment system code QR using the MRT-J application, namely AstraPay, i.Saku, and blu. GoPay, Ovo, Dana, and LinkAja are no longer supported. According to Pratomo, this modification will take effect on the 1st of July, 2023.

Single trip cards like JakLingko, and multiple travelling cards (multi trips) are still used in the payment system. Several bank electronic money cards may still be utilised, including BRIZZI, Flazz, e-money, tapcash, and JakCard.

The completion of the collaboration contract with e-wallet partners, according to Pratomo, is what caused the end of the MRT ticket payment service utilising GoPay, OVO, Dana, and LinkAja.

There hasn’t been a new agreement to extend the four partners’ collaboration until this point, continued Pratomo.

Pratomo generally continued, “MRT Jakarta remains open to the continuation of cooperation as long as it is in accordance with the rules that have been in effect with prior cooperation.”

MRT Jakarta runs from 05:00 to 05:00 WIB on weekdays and from 05:00 to 05:00 WIB on weekends. It is required that there be a headway, or separation between trains, of five minutes during peak hours, ten minutes during regular hours, and ten minutes on weekends.

So starting from the 1st of July 2023, all MRT users are advised not to use GoPay, OVO, Dana, and LinkAja as a form of payment while using the MRT service. However, the public shouldn’t be worried or discouraged from using MRT since other payment methods are still available.
