Man Punches Woman in the Head During a Surf Fight in Bali

Surf rage, or a lack of common courtesy, never ceases to amaze us. Goofy-footer Sara Taylor shared this harrowing video of a man attacking her in the surf from Bali today. You can pretty much see what happened during the surf fight.

Sara appears on a wave as another surfer enters. Before he jumps out the back, she has a brief tug-of-war with him on the open face. The man’s friend apparently paddles up to her and viciously punches her in the head as she paddles back out. Sara’s head is actually bouncing back. That wasn’t a love tap.

Sara was cut off in the first scene and immediately forced the shoulder hopper off the wave. The sequence escalates when another unknown surfer paddles up and punches her in the back of the head. The video ends with her filmer yelling “Go away, go away” as the attackers attack them on the beach.

“These men attacked Sara Taylor and Charlie this morning in Bali,” Nora Vasconcellos re-posted on Instagram. “Brazilians who speak Portuguese are possible. Women are being attacked and sucker punched. “Who exactly are they?”

“After being dropped in on my first wave, the guy’s friend punched me in the head, and then after being confronted about hitting me, he attacked Charlie on the beach for filming him,” Sara Taylor (the surfer) said. “Is anyone aware of who these people are?”

“Who the f— are these losers who attacked Sara and me this morning?” Charlie (the filmmaker) inquired. “Please spread the word.”

JP Azevedo, a Brazilian surfer, has since been identified as the attacker in the surf fight. We couldn’t confirm it independently, but the man in the fight footage appears to be him, who apparently lives in Bali and is originally from the Brazilian state of Espirito Santo.
