The police have urged owners and managers of Jakarta nightlife venues, including hotels and cafés in Jakarta’s Setiabudi district to adhere to the set working hours during Ramadan 1444 Hijri. According to Setiabudi Police Chief Commissioner Arif Purnama Oktora, “We have carried out information dissemination and personally visited many Jakarta nightlife venues in Setiabudi.”

He said that approximately 24 places of Jakarta nightlife venues in Setiabudi, including discos, hotels, karaoke bars, and cafés, have declared their dedication to upholding the regulations during Ramadan.

He said, “We conducted this activity with the sub-district, military, and police officials.”

Oktora claimed that in addition to nightclubs & Jakarta nightlife facilities, his group went into several Jakarta and Setiabudi-area schools to counsel students about averting fights, practising suhoor (sahur) on the road, and joining street convoys.

To help maintain public order and safety during Ramadan, Oktora claimed that his team also carried out an educational activity in the vicinity of the Epicentrum.

The Greater Jakarta Police Chief stated, “Improving police performance in the community while increasing community participation in preventing public order and safety disturbances” as part of his goal regarding Jakarta nightlife during this ramadan time.
