An exhibition of international Airshow products and technology, which had been in a vacuum for 28 years, was again being held in Indonesia. This time, at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali around mid-September in 2024.

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, welcomed the plan to host an international air show in Bali in 2024.

“We see that the economic situation in Indonesia continues to improve, and I think this good economic growth will be the momentum for the Bali International Airshow,” Luhut said at the launch of the Bali International Airshow 2024 in Nusa Dua, Bali on Monday, 5 December 2022. (Photo by Antara)

The implementation of the Bali International Air Show 2024 corresponds to Indonesia’s status as an archipelagic state with 673 airports.

Bali International airshow 2024 is driven by PT Inaro Seven Belas in collaboration with the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment.

PT Inaro is an event organizer formed by the French EO company Comexposium together with PT Amara International Exhibition and On Us Asia.

President Director of PT. Inaro Seventeen, Andy Wismarsyah, said that he hopes the 2024 Airshow can become a meeting place for domestic and foreign aviation industry players, giving them the opportunity to invest in and improve the Indonesian aviation industry.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut, has asked Angkasapura and the Bali International Air Show Committee to organize the event well.

First, Angkasa Pura will have to deal with airport facilities and learn from its experience at the 1996 Soekarno-Hatta.

“When the event takes place, be aware that air traffic in Bali will be relatively dense. So, the implementation must be calculated not to disturb the smooth air traffic. As well as the wide parking space, which according to my experience in Soekarno Hatta and Singapore, requires the preparation of a large parking space, so the events can be productive” Said Luhut.

International Air Show

The International Air Show exhibition was held in Indonesia twice, First at Kemayoran Airport in 1986 and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in 1996.

The two aviation events show that Indonesia can host an international air show in the same class as the Paris Air Show and the Farnborough Air Show in the UK.

An International Air Show should be widely supported as this is appropriate to improve Indonesia’s image in the eyes of the world.

The Bali International Airshow 2024 also aims to increase bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and other countries in the Asia Pacific region, Europe, and the United States, both in investment and procurement of air transportation.

Moreover, the Bali International Air Show 2024 will have a direct positive impact on the province of Bali.

“Both increasing tourism in the Bali region and creating employment opportunities for local residents and even investment development opportunities in Bali,” said President Director PT Inaro, Andy.

The Bali International Air Show is planned to be held every 2 years, to become one of the largest aviation exhibitions in Asia with international standards and to become a world-class business exhibition.
