As we discussed in the previous article, Chir Chir is a South Korean chain restaurant that’s available in Jakarta. They serve authentic and delicious Korean fried chicken that makes you feel like you want to start a mukbang.
Chir Chir is available for order through Grabfood or Gojek, so if you can’t find any of their restaurants nearby you can absolutely go order it online! But this time, we went to their restaurant located in Pantai Indah Kapuk.
The interior of the restaurant is very Hallyu K-pop vibes with different portraits of K-pop band members with K-pop songs playing through the speakers. It was quite a comfortable place however when I go there, the air conditioning doesn’t seem to work but regardless, it doesn’t make the place so humid and hot.
I totally missed out on trying their signature Chir Chiqueen during this visit as I was too focused on the visuals of their fried chickens on the next page. I ordered their Garlicky Chicken and Spicy Topokki for today. The chicken came out not quite too long, for me who has always been a fan of soy garlic-related food, their Garlicky Chicken did not disappoint. It was crunchy and juicy and their chicken pieces are large.
Additionally, you can’t just stop eating due to the crunchiness and sweet yet savoury garlicky sauce that’s drizzled generously on the chicken. Their Spicy Topokki is delicious, the heat increases as you eat however, it’s so good that you can’t stop eating it! Their teok is not too hard or too soft, just cooked perfectly so that it’s still chewy without losing too much of its consistency. Cajun chicken is given in this topokki too which is like a cherry on top, it’s delicious if you dip it in the sauce, which doesn’t taste just spicy but tangy with a hint of other species too. There’s fishcake available in it and it tastes as an ordinary fishcake would.
The staff will open the door for you as you enter, and they are very attentive to get to your needs plus, they’re very friendly and knowledgeable about the food on the menu so if you ask for recommendations, they’ll ask for your preference before recommending some of their stellar menus.
For me, the price is very reasonable and not too expensive. They don’t have many outlets across Jakarta which makes the trip there much more worth it. Chir Chir serves delicious authentic fried chicken with a taste that meets your expectation. Whenever you see people in Korean dramas eating fried chicken, you’ll get reminiscent of the taste right in this restaurant.
