August 6, 2022 – Bali Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has arrested three foreigners who are assumed supplying different types of illegal drugs to tourists in the Seminyak, Canggu, and Badung areas.

These three foreigners are, with initials, CHR (29) from England, PED (35) from Brazil, and JO (39) from Mexico.

Due to their actions, the three foreigners are threatened with the death penalty as they act as the main supplier and dealers of various narcotics types such as cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, hashish, and MDMA.

Head of BNNP Bali, Police Brigadier General I Gde Sugianyar Dwi Putra said that the arrested foreigners are suspected of being involved in international networks.

“Of course, this is not the end as we are still developing other networks and the indications are that this does involve international networks,” he said while leading the disclosure of the case at the Bali BNNP Office on Jalan Cambodia, Denpasar, on Friday (5/8).

Sugianyar also revealed that the three foreigners are captured simultaneously in three different places, but still under one network.

First, the officers arrest CHR in a villa at Jalan Raya Tumbak Bayuh, Desa Perenan, Mengwi, Badung, Bali, on Thursday (21/7) around 9 PM WITA.

Evidence in the form of 443,56 grams of cocaine, CHR is assumed to act as the dealer.

Almost at the same time, officers also arrested PED in a house at Jalan Raya Semat, Desa Tibubeneng, North Kuta, Badung, Bali.

Officers found evidence in a form of 194,81 grams of cocaine and 1,52 grams of marijuana, PED acts as the supplier.

The officers have confiscated 206,22 grams of cocaine, 34,05 grams of MDMA, and 1 gram of marijuana from JO, who holds an investor visa.

Head of Brantas BNNP Bali Putu Agus Arjaya said that the three foreigners are drug suppliers type cocaine in Seminyak, Canggu and Badung areas—which are known to be a place for nightlife entertainment spots and villas with a lot of foreign tourists.

“They are the dealers for the use of cocaine 80 to 90 percent in Canggu and Seminyak areas,” he said.

For this action, they are charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) and 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. Specifically for PED and JO, Article 11 paragraph (1) of the same Law is added, with the most severe punishment of the death penalty.
