Viral Video: Indonesian House of Representatives Members Celebrate Inauguration in Ultraman Costumes

Share:

The appearance of an Ultraman costume shocked the Parliament complex in Senayan Jakarta during the inauguration of DPR RI (Indonesian House of Representatives) members 2024-2029.

When asked by the media crew, the Ultraman claimed to be Jamaludin Malik from the Golkar Party faction in the Central Java II electoral district.

In front of reporters, he said that Ultraman is a crime-fighting superhero.

When asked why he was wearing the costume to the media crew on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, he replied, “To eradicate crime.”

He also admitted that he was ready to remove the costume if it could not be worn during the inauguration.

He admitted that he had worn the Ultraman costume since campaigning as a candidate for DPR RI member in the 2024 Legislative Election.

Therefore, Jamaludin did not want to leave his trademark Ultraman costume. However, he admitted he would give it up if asked later.

Jamaludin is from the Central Java II electoral district and belongs to the Golongan Karya (Golkar) party. He obtained 118,402 votes. The General Election Commission (KPU) has also determined that he will be inaugurated as one of the 580 members.

The determination refers to the KPU Decree Number 1206 of 2024 concerning the Determination of Elected Candidates for Members of the House of Representatives in the 2024 General Election.

However, after the inauguration, it turned out that the figure in the Ultraman costume was not the real Jamaludin Malik. A stuntman was specially prepared for the inauguration of DPR members today.

The two were then seen taking pictures next to each other. For information, Jamaludin still looks like other members in official shirts, suits, and tie costumes.

The inauguration and oath-taking of elected members of the House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2024-2029 period will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

The 580 House members determined by the General Election Commission (KPU) took the oath or pledge of DPR members, guided by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
