Pawang Hujan is usually hired for outdoor events like live concerts, wedding parties, cultural events, or others.

Tukang Parkir (Parking Attendants)

You’ll see them around mini markets, traditional markets, events, or festivals, they are the ones who control and maintain order in the limited parking lot. As you all know, Indonesia tends to be quite messy and unruly when it comes to parking on the streets, they’re the one who makes sure that everyone is able to park their car safely and also make sure that the cars don’t disturb the flow of the street that might cause congestion or traffic.

Tukang Tambal Ban (Tire Repairmen)

Some things are often unpredictable, just like the tire of your motorcycle or car’s tire exploding in the middle of the road. Well luckily, tire repairmen are often available on the pavement near you. To find them, just spot their iconic ‘Tambal Ban” sign written on a car’s tire and you’ll be able to repair your tire as soon as possible at a very affordable price and continue with your journey.

Ketok Magic

When there are tire repairmen, you will find these Ketok Magic shops nearby. They offer the same concept as tire repairmen, to be there for you during emergencies happen but for your dented car. They can do a ‘magic knock’ that could return the shape of your dented car back to normal. The secret to their magic is just some tools like a hammer and wire using the technique of ‘ketuk teter.’

Pak Ogah

Turning to the other side of the street can be scary especially when you’re nowhere close to traffic lights. With many cars and motorcycles passing through the lane, you’ll find yourself hesitating on when’s the right time to cross. Fortunately for you, Pak Ogah is usually around to help vehicles or people crossing the road much easier as they can signal the upcoming vehicles to momentarily relent for you to cross.

Ojek Payung (Umbrella Service Provider)

Sometimes, rainy days can be quite unpredictable during your stay in Indonesia.
