T’way Air Launches Incheon–Jakarta Route with Five Weekly Flights

South Korean’s T’way Air has officially launched a new international route connecting Incheon and Jakarta, starting on April 29.

The airline will operate the service five times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

According to Seoul Economic Daily, the flight departs Incheon International Airport at 3.10 pm local time and arrives at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 8.10 pm Western Indonesian Time.

The return service leaves Jakarta at 9.50 pm and lands in Incheon at 7.05 am the following day. The total travel time is approximately seven hours and ten minutes.

In a statement quoted by Naver, the airline said, “The Incheon–Jakarta route will operate five times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.” The company added that the schedule aims to provide convenience for passengers travelling in both directions.

The new route marks a milestone for the airline, as it becomes the first South Korean low-cost carrier to serve the Incheon–Jakarta route. The move is expected to expand travel options for both leisure and business passengers between the two countries.

Aircraft and Onboard Services

T’way Air is deploying a wide-body Airbus A330-300 aircraft for this route. The aircraft has a total capacity of 347 seats, consisting of 12 Business Class seats and 335 Economy Class seats.

All passengers will receive complimentary meals during the flight. This service is positioned as added value for travellers on medium-haul routes such as those between South Korea and Indonesia.

The airline stated that it has completed operational preparations ahead of the launch.

“We have completed comprehensive preparations to ensure safe operations, including the opening of a local branch, cabin crew readiness, and aircraft maintenance,” the company said.

Promotions

To coincide with the route launch, T’way Air is offering promotional fares through its official website and mobile application. The promotion is available until May 31, with a travel period valid until October 24.

“We are providing various benefits for members, such as a welcome coupon package, ticket waivers, special fare notifications, and exclusive discount codes,” a T’way Air official said.

The airline added that new members may receive additional benefits when combining membership offers with promotional fares.

“New members can receive even greater additional benefits, especially when combined with the special fare promotion for the Jakarta route,” the official said.

The launch of the route follows developments in the South Korean aviation sector, including the merger between Korean Air and Asiana Airlines. The Incheon–Jakarta service forms part of a reallocation of air traffic rights granted to T’way Air after a competitive evaluation process earlier this year.

Separately, the airline is preparing a potential corporate rebranding. At its recent general meeting of shareholders, T’way Air approved a plan to change its name to Trinity Air. The proposed name remains subject to approval from relevant authorities before it can be implemented in operations.

The new route is expected to increase connectivity between South Korea and Indonesia and support travel demand across tourism and business sectors.
