Sate Khas Senayan – Satay With Traditional Recipes

Sate Khas Senayan – Satay With Traditional Recipes — As the name states, this restaurant specializes in their satay but there are other Indonesian cuisines available. Sate Khas Senayan is very much everywhere, so no matter where you are, you’ll be able to find their restaurant in either the malls or food districts around town.

This time, we visited their restaurant inside Grand Indonesia. The place is quite spacious decorated with the visage of wayang and overall has an orange, and brown theme going around. We visited during their lunch hours, which is quite crowded but regardless, the services given are quick so we don’t really have much complain about it.

We ordered their speciality dish, Sate Ayam Campur along with Tahu Telur as an appetizer with Nasi Bakar, Lontong Cap Go Meh, and Nasi Bali as our rice dish. I might be biased but their Sate Ayam is probably the best in town. The satay itself is perfectly grilled, soft, and juicy with a subtle hint of spices on it. The peanut sauce is smooth and glossy, although my only complaint is that there’s not enough peanut sauce on it.

Their Tahu Telur is also a star, despite how simple it is the sauce is what makes this dish stand out. You can choose whether you want the sweet sauce or peanut sauce but we chose their sweet sauce for more variety. The sweetness from the sauce is in the perfect amount with a hint of spiciness, which is great as it doesn’t burn your tongue.

Their rice dishes are delicious too, when you’re eating out here, you’re guaranteed to taste the Indonesian spices present in every dish. While I don’t personally taste their rice dishes, my acquaintances said that it’s delicious and in fact, it’s their go-to restaurant for some authentic and delicious Indonesian food wherever they are.

Overall, the dish itself is delicious. I mostly recommend their Sate Ayam or if you’re more into lamb, then they have that option too with their Sate Kambing. They have a lot of stores around Indonesia, make sure to check their website for the nearest branch near you:
