Romokalisari Adventure Land, Surabaya’s New Eco Tourism

7th October 2022 – With the new tourist attraction, Eco-Tourism Romokalisari in Surabaya, East Java, opened in September 2022, the Surabaya City Government has compiled a new tour package for it. According to the Head of the Surabaya City Food and Agriculture Security Agency, Antiek Sugiharti, many visitors asked if there’s a tour package available for it.

Currently, Sugiharti’s team is arranging the standard operating procedure (SOP) for securities while also evaluating the activities in the new tourist spot. They will also do a briefing regarding the making of tourism packages for Romokalisari like food packages and attractions.

The Eco-Tourism Romokalisari Adventure Land features seven attractions like horse riding, All Terrain Vehicle (ATV), Mini Zoo, canopy boats at Romokalisari Mangrove Lake, water bicycles, jetski, sightseeing boats, and Sentra Wisata Kuliner (SWK) Romokalisari or Culinary Tourism Centre Romokalisari. The Adventure Land is located near the Romokalisari flats in Benowo District.

It was built on an area of 76,769 square meters with some of the lands has been built for games, education, and small, micro enterprises stalls. There are stalls selling a variety of processed fish, as well as food and beverage stands.

Currently, Romokalisari Adventure Land is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area. According to the Government of the Surabaya City website, thousands of visitors are recorded on Sunday (2/10).

With the opening of the new tourist spot in Surabaya, the Mayor of the City of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, hopes to open up job opportunities for Surabayans through the labour-intensive program, such as hiring 100 low-income people in the Romokalisari Adventure Land.

Even if it’s just recently opened, there are a couple of attractions in Romokalisari Adventure Land in the development phase such as rabbit cages, turtles, lambs, and a couple of gardens.

Sugiharti said that room for collaboration with different communities is possible and hopes that the tourist attraction is able to help the mayor in the city’s economic growth and for the low-income people.
