Road Narrowing for MRT at Monas Area Starting Today

Share:

18th August 2022 – The construction of the Phase 2A CP201 MRT project on the Bundaran HI – Harmoni line will cause road narrowing around the National Museum (Monas) area from 18 August to 7 September.

This road narrowing is caused by pit tests carried out at five points of the construction site for the entrance area of the Monas MRT Station which will be built on Jalan Museum and Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.

The Corporate Secretary Division Head PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Rendi Alhial has confirmed that there will be a road narrowing from 18th August to 7 September with test pit MNS TP-22 and MNS TP-25 at Jalan Museum and within Museum Nasional building areas.

Alhial explained that pit tests are carried out to identify and confirm the position of several underground utility networks that intersect with construction works like PLN electricity cables, fibre optics, and PAM water pipes.

Additionally, the MNS TP-23 and MNS TP-24 pit tests at Jalan Museum and inside the Kemenkominfo building area will also be done from 8th September to 30th September. Which will cause the narrowing of the Jalan Museum route around the area.

On 26th September to 29th October 2022, MNS TP-21 test pit will be conducted afterward at the median of Jalan Merdeka Barat. However, this will not disturb the traffic or routes along Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.

Alhial said that PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) and Shimizu-Adhi Karya Joint Venture (SAJV) as conductors will continue to maintain the comfort and safety of road users during the construction process.

Furthermore, he hopes for the understanding and cooperation of the people to continue supporting the implementation of the MRT Project.

“Other than that, we hope that the road users and public transport to pay attention to road safety and follow the instructions of officers in the field,” he said.
