Share:

July 18, 2022 – Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo states that the police will prioritize a scientific approach or Scientific Crime Investigation (SCI) to reveal the case of Brigadier J’s shooting in Head of the Profession and Security Division of the National Police Inspector General Ferdy Sambo’s home. This investigation is done to answer a couple of public assumptions about the incident.

“[This investigation] is done to prevent any speculation without the back-up of experts or with the lack of evidence that could make things worse,” said Dedi on Sunday (17/7)

One of the ways the scientific approach can be done is by completing the autopsy result conducted by the forensic team. Also, the forensic lab is currently undergoing ballistic tests of projectiles, casings, and firearms used in the shooting incident of Brigadier J.

Additionally, The Directorate of General Crimes (Dittipidum) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is simultaneously conducting research on a number of witnesses and providing necessary assistance to the South Jakarta Metro Police Investigation team.

He hoped that through this scientific approach, the facts regarding the shooting of Brigadier J will be revealed clearly. Dedi also said that the police will handle Brigadier J’s shooting case as objective and transparent to the public as much as possible.

He also asks for the public to remain patient in the process of investigation by the police regarding Brigadier’s J shooting.

“The result will be very clear and comprehensive because the evidence is scientifically proven and is backed up by the statement given by witnesses,” said Dedi.

Both Brigadier J and Bharada E were Ferdy’s aides. Where Brigadier J serves as a chauffeur for Ferdy’s wife while Bharada E was in charge of the security and protection of the family. Police claimed that the shooting happened due to the assumption that Brigadier J sexually assaulted Sambo’s wife.

Brigadier J launched seven shots while Bharada E returned five times. None of Brigadier J’s shots harmed Bharada E however, shots by Bharada E hits Brigadier J until he dies.

Right now, the National Police Chief has formed a special investigation team for the incident. Additionally, Komnas HAM is also conducting an independent investigation into the shooting case.
