Kuta Beach Adds Public Facilities, From Playground To Pedestrian

Share:

Kuta Beach offers new facilities for travelers who want to relax and unwind in the Kuta area. State and local governments have taken initiatives to improve public facilities in the area. It is developing the coastline from Kuta to Seminyak and Legian beach areas. Now locals and tourists alike can enjoy the world-famous Kuta Beach with new playgrounds, skate parks, and outdoor gyms.

Project Manager Tunas Jaya Sanur, Bianglala KSO I Nyoman Agus Sandika, said that the addition of public facilities was based on community requests. The public facilities are located near culinary stands or next to the Batan Santen Temple near the Kuta tsunami shelter building.

The new facility is ideally located near the Kuta Beach food court. Hopefully, this will make Kuta Beach more accessible and enjoyable for families. Older families can relax at beachside cafes, while little ones can play and explore at playgrounds and skate parks. “Playground area is located only in Kuta. Currently, construction has been completed. There are two games, namely seesaw, and slide,” Sandika explained.

Sandika also mentioned that the facility was created with the broader community in mind. As for the outdoor gym facilities, they will be similar to the facilities in the Puputan Badung field. The facilities will be spread over several locations, such as in Segment 1, Segment 2, and Segment 3. Meanwhile, in segment 4, there will be skate park facilities.

Sandika said several other sports facilities were initially planned to be built, starting with a futsal field and a volleyball court. However, when a review was carried out, it turned out that this was not possible in several locations due to the abrasion factor. “So we adjust this to the conditions on the ground,” said Sandika.

The progress of restructuring the Beach, namely Seminyak, Legian, and Kuta, has reached 97 percent. The entire work process continues to be accelerated, and the workers are working overtime to complete their work so that later it can be completed before the due date on February 6, 2023. “Hopefully, it can be completed on time, with just the finishing touches to be added. Hopefully, there will be no obstacles because we are working in the field,” said Sandika.

Tourists Are Starting To Leave Kuta

In December 2022, Puspa Negara, as Chair of LPM Legian, Badung, mentioned Tourist areas of Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak have started to be abandoned by tourists. For this reason, refreshment needs to be made. “As developments for the arrangement of Kuta – Legian – Seminyak beach destinations are needed beautification that leads to maximizing the aesthetics of the beach area, so tourists don’t leave it behind,” Said Puspa Negara

The Badung Regency Government has budgeted around IDR 28 billion from the 2023 main APBD to renovate this cracker wall. Later it is hoped that the decrease in the height of the wall can spoil the eyes of pedestrians or even pass by to see the beautiful beaches of Kuta-Legian and Seminyak.
