7th October 2022 – The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has amplified the Covid-19 vaccination program for foreigners currently in Indonesia.

The effort to provide Covid-19 vaccination for foreigners is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number HK.01.07/MENKES1368/2022 regarding the implementation of Covid-19 vaccination for foreign nationals.

The Spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mohammad Syahril, said that the success of the vaccination program is one of the keys to economic recovery and tourism on a national scale. The more citizens and foreigners are vaccinated, the faster the community will be protected.

Foreigners who are eligible to follow the vaccination program from the Government of Indonesia are those who have KITAS or KITAP.

The implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination is intended for representatives of foreign countries as well as international non-profit organizations who are currently on duty or assigned in Indonesia. This also applies to foreigners coordinating with the ministry that carries out government affairs in the field of international relations.

However, non-service foreigners can also get Covid-19 vaccinations organized by the Government of Indonesia with the requirement of registering through PeduliLindungi.id for the vaccination e-ticket.

There are different varieties of Covid-19 vaccinations in Indonesia like AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Pfizer, Moderna, and others.

In the program of expanding vaccinations to foreigners, the Government has also provided the type of vaccine that has been approved for use in the emergency category (EUA), with a license number that has been issued by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

Foreigners are required to take note of the dates of vaccination which will begin in September 2022 through health service facilities or Covid-19 vaccination service posts.

The vaccination applies to foreigners who have never received any vaccinations in their country, those who want to have the next dose, and those who want to do booster vaccines.
