Share:

K-Pop star Hyoyeon from SNSD once again captured the attention of fans with her latest TikTok video during her vacation in Bali. The SNSD member, who is also known as DJ HYO, has visited the island multiple times, and this time, she delighted netizens with an unexpected and fun dance moment alongside local online motorcycle taxi drivers.

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, Hyoyeon uploaded a video showing her dancing on the sidewalk in Bali’s Canggu area, a popular tourist spot. In the video, she can be seen wearing a cream-coloured mini dress with tassel accents, paired with a black bikini and flip-flops, effortlessly exuding a relaxed and stylish vibe.

What made the video even more entertaining was the presence of two online motorcycle taxi drivers who were parked nearby. While one driver laughed at Hyoyeon’s energetic moves, another remained on his bike, watching in amusement. A local man also joined the video, standing next to Hyoyeon and taking a selfie video while enjoying the moment.

As the remix version of “Boom Boom Bass” by K-Pop group RIIZE played, Hyoyeon effortlessly danced to the beat, proving her strong stage presence even in a casual setting.

Fans were amused by the unexpected interaction and joked about how frequently Hyoyeon visits Bali, with some humorously suggesting that she might already have an Indonesian ID card (KTP).

Hyoyeon’s frequent trips to Bali have led to playful speculation among netizens, with some even suggesting that she might be running a boarding house business on the island. Her love for Bali and its relaxed lifestyle has been a topic of discussion among fans, who often see her enjoying time on the island throughout the year.

Additionally, Indonesian fans linked her visit to the recent debut of Indonesian K-Pop idol Carmen Hearts2Hearts, who became the first Indonesian trainee to debut under SM Entertainment.

Many fans joked that Hyoyeon, who is part of SNSD (Girls’ Generation)—one of the most legendary girl groups under SM Entertainment—might have been responsible for recruiting Carmen, given how often she visits Bali.

The TikTok video quickly went viral, amassing over 1.1 million views, 194,000 likes, and 4,100 comments. Indonesian netizens flooded the comments section with jokes and admiration:

  • “You have a boarding house in Bali, right? 😭”
  • “This is the SM staff who recruited Carmen.”
  • “She’s already best friends with the drivers! 😭”
  • “Indonesians are in Korea chasing their dreams, while Hyoyeon is in Bali more often than them!”
